Our Mission

The Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit membership organization that promotes the health of women and newborns. Our mission is to improve and promote the health of women and newborns and to strengthen the nursing profession through the delivery of superior advocacy, research, education and other professional and clinical resources to nurses and other health care professionals.

 

AWHONN’s Strategic Priorities 2017 - 2019 

Goal I: Increase diversity across all aspects of the organization in order to represent the populations we serve.

 

Goal II: Elevate AWHONN’s visibility within/among healthcare systems, professionals, academic organizations, legislative and regulatory bodies, media and consumers

 

Goal III: Increase Membership

 

Goal IV: Utilize technology to support change, innovation and relevance.

 

Goal V: Become the leading nursing authority in women’s health, obstetric and neonatal nursing.

 

Goal VI: Diversify AWHONN’s revenue portfolio.
