Perinatal/Neonatal Risk Assessment Survey
The best way to safeguard your patients, your staff and your facility.
This two-day on-site survey conducted by AWHONN expert
consultants identifies areas prone to medical/clinical errors, and offers
solutions to avert potential problems. To manage risk effectively, it's prudent
to base institutional policies and protocols on clinical/scientific evidence and
guidelines from professional associations and regulatory agencies.
In
fact, the Joint Commission recommends health care organizations implement AWHONN
standards and guidelines in clinical practice. (The Joint Commission Sentinel
Event Alert, "Preventing Infant Death and Injury during
Delivery")
Your consulting team will:
- Evaluate performance against standards and guidelines to ensure patient safety.
- Establish performance expectations for your perinatal and/or neonatal patient care units.
- Recommend methods to improve patient care and enhance patient safety.
- Highlight areas of outstanding performance.
- Identify evidence based resources to guide clinical practice.
- Provide objective data to hospital administrators, management and staff that supports ongoing quality improvement.
Your consultant(s) will examine organizational and unit policies and
procedures, technology, medication administration, documentation, staff
education and competencies, nurse/physician collaborative practice, and risk
management initiatives. The final report, delivered within thirty to sixty
business days after the on-site survey, details all findings and recommends
solutions for safer, more effective and efficient patient care.
Clients
report this survey serves as a credible, cost-effective tool to minimize risk
and enhance patient care.
