Agenda - Day 5

On the Ground in Haiti:  Providing Relief and Recovery to Women and Newborns
    Roberta Prepas, CNM, MN, JD

Haiti was devastated in the January 2010 earthquake and news stories have graphically portrayed the human suffering in the aftermath.  Come to the "Headlines in Healthcare" breakfast to hear a firsthand account from Robbie Prepas, CNM, of what life has been like for mothers and babies in the months following the earthquake.  Robbie traveled to Haiti with her federal Disaster Management Assistance Team this spring and cared for hundreds of women and infants.  Robbie will describe what it is like on the ground in Haiti and what the continuing needs and challenges are for long term recovery.  Come and find out how you can help in disaster relief efforts for women and newborns in Haiti.  Hear what we've learned, and what we need to do to better protect moms and babies in future disasters.
