Hello fellow AWHONN members, Hope this finds everyone enjoying 2013. I have changed things up a bit for our first meeting this year; it will be a lunchtime event at Pier 22 restaurant on the waterfront in Bradenton. We will be viewing one of AWHONN’s archived webinars titled, Perinatal Risk Management: Human Factors and Liability. The presenter is Lisa Miller, CNM, JD. Her bio includes, “Lisa focuses on improving obstetric care here in the United States, where her extensive experience as a legal consultant brings a unique viewpoint to patient safety, risk reduction, and risk mitigation.” The presentation will be followed with peer discussion. Just as our other events, there is no charge for AWHONN members, and you will be given seating first preference. I will put all other requests on a waitlist until February 13th; then will open up spaces to non-AWHONN members. This means that I cannot guarantee AHWONN members seating if you RSVP after February 13th. Registration for this event is completed online: http://awhonnsrqmana. Some other great 2013 news is that AWHONN Florida Section leaders chose to purchase access to the entire AWHONN Webinar library. These webinars are cutting edge obstetrics, women’s care and neonatal topics, and, all have CE offerings. Informational flyers with instructions and codes to access the library will be distributed at the February 20th event. This is a lovely benefit to AWHONN membership!
