Biography
Hemorrhage is one of the leading causes of maternal death in the United States, according to a recent CDC study. To help decrease maternal deaths, The Joint Commission has suggested that hospitals should identify specific thresholds for responding to changes in the woman's vitals signs and clinical presentation. They also recommend that hospitals develop and use procedures and emergency drills to prepare staff to respond to changes, such as hemorrhage. Hospitals should use these drills to train staff, review and improve local protocols, and to identify and address facility and systems problems that can threaten optimal care.
With this webinar, you will be able to learn about the nature and the problem of obstetric hemorrhage, how to assess and manage it, and how to plan and implement effective simulations and emergency drills.
