Broswers to Use for optimal performance

Browsers to Use:


For optimal performance when launching your course, we recommend using one of these browsers:


Mozilla Firefox (can be downloaded from Google)

  • Open Mozilla
  • In the top right corner select 'Open Menu'
  • Select 'Options'
  • Under the section labelled 'Tabs'
  • Check off 'Open links in tabs instead of windows'

*Alternate option, press 'CTRL' and 'T' together

This will open all new links in a new tab versus opening a new window each time 



Google Chrome(can be downloaded from Google)

  • Open Google Chrome 
  • You have 3 options to opening new tabs(When on the link
  1. Right clicking on the mouse and selecting 'Open Link in New Tab
  2. If you have a mouse with a middle button, clicking on that will open a new tab also 
  3. Pressing the 'ctrl' key and the letter 'T' will open a new tab as well

Enroll Learners

How to Enroll Learners (as an Admin)


In order for learners to be enrolled, learners must complete 2 tasks first and foremost:

  1. Create and log in with a Community Non-Member account or login with an existing account
  2. Log in and update/save and submit your profile
  3. Click the Institutional link (please ask your administrator to provide this link)
  4. The Institution tab will appear on your homepage– if they can confirm this, then the admin can now enroll them through the Enroll Learners tab. 

Important Message: Learners should ONLY launch the course via the My Learning tab (this will be available once enrolled by the admin) Learners should NOT launch the course via the Institution tab)




Once these tasks are completed, the Administrator on the account will now be able to enroll the learners' in the 'Enroll Leaner's' tab via the Institutional link

Webinar Access

Webinar Access


You can access the webinar through 3 types of accounts:

  1. Member
  2. Non-Member
  3. Institution

As a member, your access to the webinars is free. 

As a non-member, your access to the webinars requires a fee.

Your institution purchased a webinar library, this would allow your access to the webinar to be free as well. 


To ensure you have the proper access, please confirm you are using the correct account. If you are a member you will see a 'Launch' button and the same would apply if your Institution purchased the webinar library. If you are a non-member, you will see a 'Buy' button. 


If you are a member and it is showing the 'buy' option then please confirm your membership has not expired, as this is one of the many reasons to why the 'buy' button appears.

I failed my first test attempt. How can I retake the FHMSIM Course?

To restart the FHMSIM Course, please:

  1. Click to launch the course from your MY LEARNING tab.
  2. When asked if you'd like to resume from where you left off, click No. You will then be able to restart the course from the beginning.

You have 3 attempts. If you failed both attempts, please email AWHONN Learning to reset your account. You will need to repurchase the course before you can make any more test attempts.

Institutions - How many product seats are available?

Do you need to know how many product seats are available? You will need to be the Institution Admin for your hospital/group:


  1. Sign in using your direct institution link
  2. Click the Enroll Learners tab
  3. Click a check box by any member's name (it doesn't matter who)
  4. Click the Next:Select Programs button at the bottom of the page
  5. In the table, you will see the purchased product. The number of available seats are displayed in the Enrollment column. Note: You can also click the displayed number to see more information about your enrolled students.

I am trying to access a course from work, but it will not launch. What can I do?

This is a typical problem that occurs because you are trying to access it behind your employer's network firewall.


To resolve this issue, please ask your IT Department representative to add AWHONN to their firewall's list of trusted sites. If you are still having problems after this occurs, contact

From my Institution page, I only see the "Buy" button next to a product when it should be free.

Before reaching out to AWHONN Customer Service:

  • Are you using the web URL link specific to your Institution?
    • Do not log in through http:\\ as this URL is for general membership only. Ask your nurse trainer or educator for the specific link. 
  • Has the number of purchased product enrollment licenses been reached? If so, please have your nurse trainer or educator email us at for additional sales information.

I can't find the "Participant Evaluation" form. Is it required to complete the educational offering?

Yes, the Participant Evaluation is required. It is located in the same package the course material is in (see screen graphic below). It must be completed before you can finish the course/education offering and receive an associated CNE certificate of completion.
