Patricia A. Creehan Accepts AWHONN’s Distinguished Professional Service Award

Illinois Nurse Awarded National Nursing Association’s Highest Honor

Patricia A. Creehan Receives the 2017 Distinguished Professional Service Award

 

The Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) presented its highest honor, the Distinguished Professional Service Award, to Patricia A. Creehan, MA, MS, BSN, for her contributions to the field of women’s health and newborn care.  The award was presented at the AWHONN national Convention in New Orleans, LA and is sponsored by the JOHNSON’S® Brand.

 

Ms. Harvey is the Manager of Clinical Operations for Labor and Delivery at Advocate Chris Medical Center. She is certified in Maternal Newborn Nursing from the National Certification Corporation for the Obstetric, Gynecologic, and Neonatal Nursing Specialties and Neonatal Resuscitation Program from American Academy of Pediatrics & American Heart Association. She is an author of numerous publications, has given several presentations nationwide, and has been involved in the development of products for Intrapartum Pain Management Evidence-Based Practice Guideline.

A long-time AWHONN member, Ms. Creehan has held numerous leadership positions with the organization since joining in 1977, including Illinois Section Chair and was part of the Development team for AWHONN’s Intrapartum Pain Management Evidence-Based Practice Guideline.  Ms. Harvey earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing from the Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, a Masters of Science in Nursing from the Texas Woman’s University in Denton, and Masters of Art from the Governor State University in University Park, IL
