Postpartum Hemorrhage (PPH)
Share |

Women are the cornerstone of a healthy and prosperous world — we must act now to eliminate preventable deaths and injuries.

Reducing the number of women who bleed to death during or after pregnancy and birth is the goal of the AWHONN Postpartum Hemorrhage (PPH) Implementation Community. The initiative is designed to improve clinicians' recognition of, readiness for, and response to postpartum hemorrhage.

AWHONN Postpartum Hemorrhage (PPH) Project In Action

We at AWHONN wish to thank all of the attached who helped make the PPH Project a success.

About AWHONN’s PPH Implementation Community

Building upon AWHONN’s success with the PPH Project, AWHONN’s PPH Implementation Community will allow hospital leaders to interact with and receive support from AWHONN staff and other implementation community members.  Currently AWHONN is seeking hospital-based nurse champions for our implementation community who agree to:

  1. Ensure that nurses who care for women during the intrapartum and postpartum periods in their facility complete the PPH Online Education Modules
  2. Begin integrating the PPH tools in their facility's electronic medical record (EMR) and participate in calls every other month with AWHONN and other PPH implementation community leaders for a period of 12 months. Calls will be scheduled on the following days:
    • Informational webinar:  September 7, 2016
    • Orientation call: December 7, 2016
