When the Expected is Lost:  Care and Grief Support Following Fetal Diagnosis
On-demand presentation from the 2022 AWHONN Convention
The Fetal Therapy Nurse Network (FTNN) and Pregnancy Loss and Infant Death Alliance (PLIDA) collaborated on this panel presented at the 2022 AWHONN Convention on supporting fetal health families through the trauma, grief, and loss experienced with prenatal diagnosis of various fetal anomalies.

Second Victim: The Perinatal Nurse after an Adverse Event Webinar
Second victim situations continue throughout healthcare, including perinatal nursing. The presenter will discuss the mental and physical effects that a perinatal nurse (or perinatal healthcare worker) may experience after an adverse or unexpected event occurs during the care of her/his patient. Discussion will include recognition of these effects, coping mechanisms and wellness techniques for the second victim, as well as methods that peers, the healthcare team, and healthcare organizations can use to support those who become second victims of an adverse event. 

AWHONN Town Hall: Reimagining Your Perinatal Bereavement Space
A family’s perinatal loss is difficult for everyone involved. Having a unit that is thoughtfully prepared to better facilitate your patient’s needs can make a huge difference in their grieving process. During this on-demand webinar presentation, nurses Jen Hamilton, Stephanie Russell, and Michelle Moore will explain how they were able to build on what they already had in place to reshape their perinatal bereavement care by utilizing their community as a resource.
