Another nurse, Jessica Histo, of Honolulu, HI has not only raised awareness of diaper need and diapers for the families of Hawaii, but she also recently co-founded Hawaii's very first diaper bank, "Hawai'i Diaper Bank started when I was looking for somewhere to donate the diapers my son had outgrown. Drives were held during National Diaper Need Awareness Week in 2016 and 2017, at that time Hawaii was one of the 3 states with no diaper banks. We are truly blessed to have a small but amazing group of people that continue support us; and in 2018 we not only received or articles of incorporation, but also a mayoral proclamation for National Diaper Need Awareness Week. The Keiki (children) of Hawai'i are what drives the work we do, no child should have to go without this basic need."- Jessica Histo, Honolulu, HI
