Welcome to NH AWHONN!

As the NH AWHONN Chair, I would like to invite you to become involved in improving the quality of care provided to the women, newborns, and families of New Hampshire.  As a member of AWHONN, you will become part of a powerful group of professionals whose mission is to improve the health and wellbeing of all women and newborns.

If you are not a member yet, I hope you will consider joining AWHONN.

  • Among many benefits, AWHONN provides you with:
    • Two professional publications, the Journal of Obstetric & Neonatal Nursing (JOGNN) and Nursing for Women’s Health, that provide up-to-date information on topics that affect your nursing practice.
    • Help in being connected to others in your profession as well as to our more than 220 New Hampshire members.
    • Access to amazing educational programs at reduced rates to include the 2019 AWHONN Convention. This year's theme is "Leading the Way to Better Patient Care".  I hope you will consider attending June 8th - 12th in Atlanta, GA.
  • Becoming a member is easy to do.  You can find details at the AWHONN Membership Page or contact our NH Membership Coordinator, Paula Wellde.

The NH AWHONN Coordinating Team meets every other month planning educational offerings to assist you in caring for the women and newborns of New Hampshire. Our team brings together volunteers who work in a variety of positions in the field of obstetrics and neonatal care including professional nurses, managers, directors and educators.  I am grateful to have this committed group that celebrates being one of the most robust and well attended teams in the country.

In addition to national opportunities, our Coordinating Team is excited to provide you with local access to learning opportunities:

  • Basic Fetal Monitoring
  • S.T.A.B.L.E.
  • Maternal Resuscitation
  • Intermediate EFM
  • Fetal Monitoring with Lisa and David Miller- October 17th at Murphy's Tap Room and Carriage House in Bedford, NH

I along with our Coordinating Team value your partnership in caring for the women and newborns of NH.  Please let us know how we can serve you better.  Please contact us with your ideas.

I look forward to our year together and grateful for the opportunity to work with you to meet the needs of our women and newborns and grow our local professional organization and its future leaders.
