The AWHONN Convention Program Committee (CPC) is responsible for developing the convention’s educational learning outcomes, identifying topics of interest to participants, and selecting topics/presenters to deliver high-quality content.
Member Responsibilities:
- Before Convention
- Recommend participation in the convention during the year preceding the convention for which you are serving as member
- Participate in mandatory face-to-face initial committee meeting
- Participate in committee meetings
- Review participant feedback from previous convention
- Develop convention learning outcomes and objectives
- Identify topics and presenters
- Determine criteria for review of proposals
- Decide pre-convention session topics/presenters
- Finalize convention education session schedule
- Review and score podium proposals
- Extend invitations to presenters
- During Convention
- Participate in daily program committee meetings
- Participate in the VIP Reception
- Serve as liaisons for Clinical Excellence and preconvention presenters
- Serve as session moderators/door host as neededConsult with Chair and staff liaisons as needed for troubleshooting
- Participate with committee in scheduled celebratory meal/event as able
- Collaborate with Host Committee, as needed
- Post-convention
- Provide feedback related to convention education programming
- Participate in debriefing meeting within 4 weeks after convention
