RMC Logo Usage Guidelines

These Usage Guidelines set out the requirements and specifications of AWHONN for use of the Seal(s) shown in Exhibit A subject to the terms and conditions of the Respectful Maternity Care Designation Agreement. Proper and consistent use of the Seal(s) is critical to preserve the brand image associated with the Seal(s) and their recognition, strength, and significance as source identifiers in the marketplace, as well as the integrity of the overall Respectful Maternity Care Designation program.

APPROVED USES
Recipients may display the Seal(s) in the following ways and locations:

  • Facility website and webpages
  • Facility social media profiles and posts therein
  • Internal and external Facility marketing materials
  •  Facility staff recruitment materials
  • Banners, posters, and signage within the Facility or outside the Facility
  • Facility annual reports, quality dashboards, and community benefit publications
  • Email signatures for Facility-designated program leads or administrators
  • Where technologically possible, Recipients should link their designated Seal(s) image to an informational webpage describing the Respectful Maternity Care Designation program and what the Recipient’s designation means and the qualifications it has demonstrated to be awarded such Respectful Maternity Care Designation.
  • In any event, all uses must clearly associate the Seal(s) with the specific Facility or unit designation (e.g., bronze, silver, or gold).

PROHIBITED USES
Recipients may not:

  • Use any other Seal(s) tier level that was not awarded by AWHONN (e.g., displaying a gold-tier Seal when the Recipient has only been awarded a bronze-tier Seal).
  • Alter, distort, recolor, or modify the Seal(s) image in any way.
  • Combine the Seal(s) with any other trademark, service mark, logo, or design to appear as a co-brand.
  • Use the Seal(s) to endorse commercial products or services.
  • Use the Seal(s) after the expiration of the Term.
  • Apply the Seal(s) to unrelated programs, units, or service lines or other facilities not reviewed by AWHONN as part of the Respectful Maternity Care Designation application process.
  • Imply any certification, accreditation, or endorsement by AWHONN beyond the Seal(s).
  • Use or display any other trademarks, trade names, service marks, logos, designs, slogans, or other indicia of source owned by AWHONN in connection with the Seal(s).
  • Use the Seal(s) in a manner that implies that any non-AWHONN products, services, websites, or publications are endorsed, sponsored, licensed by, or affiliated with AWHONN.

GRAPHIC INTEGRITY REQUIREMENTS
To maintain brand and graphic consistency, Recipients must:

  • Always use the official Seal graphic files provided by AWHONN. Image file formats include: .jpg, .png, .eps, and .pdf.
  • Maintain appropriate clear space around the Seal(s).
  • Ensure the Seal(s) is displayed at a legible size.
  • Not place the Seal(s) over backgrounds that impair readability (for example, backgrounds that are the same color of the Seal(s) and/or are otherwise visually crowded).
  • Do not crowd the Seal(s) with images, text, or other graphics that might weaken its impact of legibility.
  • Do not distort the seal, maintain proportions when increasing/decreasing the size of the seal.
