Washington DC — The Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of Elizabeth Eisenhauer, PhD, RN, as Associate Editor, Reviews, Journal of Obstetric, Gynecologic, & Neonatal Nursing (JOGNN).

Dr. Eisenhauer earned a PhD in nursing from the University of Michigan and is an assistant professor of nursing at Oakland University in Rochester, MI where she teaches undergraduate nursing research and graduate statistics. In addition, Dr. Eisenhauer holds a master’s degree in library science from the State University of New York at Buffalo.  Her primary line of research is bioethics with a focus on participants’ understanding of informed consent for research participation, biobanking, and genetic testing. Her research has been published in JOGNN, Clinical Nursing Research, and Journal of Perinatal and Neonatal Nursing. “The primary focus of this role will be oversight of the scholarly review manuscripts submitted to JOGNN and related initiatives to enhance the rigor, methods, and reach of published review articles,” said JOGNN Editor in Chief, Joyce K. Edmonds, PhD, MPH, RN. “Given JOGNN’s recent, substantial growth in this area, Dr. Eisenhauer’s expertise will be an invaluable contribution to the mission of JOGNN and to the nursing evidence base.”

Dr. Eisenhauer’s appointment begins September 19, 2022.
