AWHONN on Capitol Hill 2026
April 27-28, 2026

When I signed up for AWHONN on Capitol Hill I did not know what I was really getting myself into. I was excited to get involved but extremely nervous for this new experience. On the first night of the meet and greet I met people who have done this event for years who gave me a little insight. I felt I was very well prepared to go and speak about the bills that could really make a difference, things that we as not only women’s health nurses but every nurse lives every day.
The impact I made with these representatives no matter how big or small it was, made a large impact on my life for good. It was such an honor to be able to attend.

2023 AWHONN on Capitol Hill Attendee

Join AWHONN and your nurse colleagues across the nation in coming together for a two-day lobbying event in Washington, DC. With your help, we will speak directly to our representatives, advocating for bills that will make a substantial difference in the lives of nurses and patients.

Sunday evening, join us for a cash bar to meet with your fellow nurses. On Monday, April 27th, you will have the chance to attend a full day educational session. In addition to prepping you on the intricacies of the bills, you will learn how to effectively lobby and speak to your representatives. Then, on Tuesday, take your knowledge to the Hill. As an AOCH participant, you will have meetings scheduled on your behalf to talk directly with the offices of your representatives alongside other nurses from your state.
